Sports dedicated hangar
We have our own skydiving hangar at the airport where we can pack, dirt dive, debrief and hang out when jumping isn't possible.

Full gear hire
We have all skydiving gear needed for rent. This includes parachute systems to suit all sizes of people, visual & audible altimeters, helmets, jumpsuits, goggles, gloves & lifejackets.
Camps and events
We offer regular skills camps for many disciplines & courses to help improve your skydiving skills and knowledge. We also hold our annual Sky Cats Boogie which is an event not to be missed.

Coaching for all levels
We offer coaching from first jump students all the way up to becoming an instructor or a highly experienced sport jumper.
Multiple turbine aircraft
We have two Super Caravans to get you to your jump altitude quickly. One Grand Caravan and one standard size.

Safety first culture
Our priority is ensuring everyone stays safe and returns home, having enjoyed their day skydiving at TSS.

New sport jumpers - Checking in/ DZ Brief
Please let us know via email at least 3 days prior to your arrival so that we can allocate you a time with an instructor to get checked in.
Unfortunately if you arrive unannounced you may experience disappointment or long waiting times due to not having staff available to check you in.
The check in process does take time.
To make sure the check in runs smoothly please check all the requirements below, have your documentation ready when you arrive and fill in the registration form by following the link below, prior to turning up.
Drop Zone requirements
AAD's
AAD's are mandatory to jump here in Taupō.
Reserve Dates
Reserve packs must be up to date (Repacked within the last 7 months).
Snag Free Cameras
Snag resistant camera setups with deflectors or a cutaway system.
NZPIA Licence
We operate under the NZPIA. Licence conversions can be done at the DZ.
High altitude endorsement
Jumping from 15,000ft requires the NZPIA High Altitude exam. This can be done at the DZ.

Logbook
A signed and up to date logbook.
Licence
There is no minimum licence to jump here at TSS, but if you have one, please bring a copy.
Rig Paperwork
If you have your own gear please bring your reserve data card with you.

Weather & load notifications
Sign up to get daily weather and load notifications on WhatsApp.
A snippet of the local weather forecast and tandem booking timings are posted each evening for the following day. If the weather is bad there will be no jumping at that time.
Remember if there are 10 or more sport jumpers at the DZ wanting to jump then that's enough to run sports loads.


Sporty accommodation
There is on site accommodation available at the airport for sport jumpers.
A bunk house with 16 beds available - 12 in mixed dorm rooms
and 4 in a female-only room. There is a kitchen in the sports hangar along with toilets and showers available.
Bunks with mattresses are supplied but you are required to bring your own bedding with you.
Pillows and sleeping bags or sheets are required.

New Zealand's summer months and best jumping season aligns with the northern hemispheres winter.
Taupō Sport Skydivers offers multiple Turbine aircraft to train out of, team rooms available upon request along with on drop zone accommodation to keep you and your fellow team members jumping throughout the year.
We can also hold events at our DZ for Skills camps and big way events with 2 caravans as lift power.

Single jump ticket
Standard single jump ticket rate, valid for all exit altitudes as determined by operational requirements.

Bulk pack
Access to a jump rate of $60 per slot. Valid for all exit altitudes as determined by operational requirements.

This covers the coaches slot and coaching fee, you use whichever tickets you have on your account for

Recurrency training
We can get you current and skydiving again. This refresher training covers ground refresh work.
Depending on the length of time since your last jump along with your logged experience will depict the
extent of the refresh training required.

Recurrency jump
Need to jump with a coach to get current again? How many you'll need to do will depend on how well you
pick things back up and when your last jump was.
The fee covers both the coaches and your slot.

Parachute packing course
In this course you will learn how to pack a main parachute. Being able to pack your own parachute gives
you a more in depth understanding of your equipment. This course takes the best part of a day and is a
great thing to do on a bad weather day.
